Tiled showers are one of our specialties. When it comes to installing tile in your shower, the part that is most important to have done correctly, isn't able to be seen for very long- the waterproofing.  Most people, and sadly even some contractors believe that tile and grout are waterproof, however, that is not the case. If steps are skipped during the preparation of the shower and the waterproofing, you will find yourself with a leaking shower. Once a shower is leaking it is very difficult to pin point exactly where the point of failure is, and often times a complete tear out and re-installation is necessary.

There are many acceptable and TCNA-approved ways to prepare a shower for tile installation. We are even certified in many of them, and can help you choose which one of them is best for your project depending on your tile choice, and specific needs. Many of the material manufacturers offer a range of warranties when using their complete product line and we are happy to help you register for the warranty.

Here are some things to consider when choosing a tile contractor

  1. Does the contractor specialize in shower tile installation?

  2. What materials are being used for the waterproofing of the substrate?

  3. Will a Flood Test be performed on the shower pan?

  4. Does the manufacturer of the installed products offer a warranty?

  5. Does the contractor offer a warranty on the workmanship?
